thanks everyone for your responses to the trailer. I am in las vegas at the daily kos conference. Very inspiring. About to do a workshop on using film as a tool and I am going to talk about alll your responses to the trailer.
some thoughts
we dont want to include much more, it needs to be a trailer, and therefore not the whole film.
the trailer will appeal mainly to the people who agree with us. Once we have the film, then we will look to all of you to reach out to friends, relatives, co-workers, folks at church, to get them to see the film. As with the other films, by far the most important element in getting movie out and around and to others who dont agree with us, is the one to one, personal work so many of you do.
we are working on some solution to the "who is talking question"
and we dont want to go after political enemies in the trailer, but leave that to film, and the campaign around the film.
towards that end, we are going to go public with a campaign around "who are the war profiteers." or as a blogger here suggested....WAR WHORES.. and will look for everyones help with research..
keep the ideas, thoughts, and debate going...

I agree with Bernadette -
the choir is all set to go -
we don't need to much more preaching to -
why not make two trailers -
one for those who are in agreement
and one for the others then?
Oh - for some reason the Iraq For Sale font or layer style
bugs me - it looks plasticky!
I've watched the trailer a few times now and read about half the comments made. I really want to see this project succeed. I add my voice to all those who hav asked for some sort of info about the people speaking and am glad you are trying to work that out.
I also agree that the trailer could be shorter, or perhaps the same length, but having cut out some of what's there at the moment and using some of the comments made to put in a more powerful moment. For example, the man that talks about all the accessories you could want in the SUVs, I'm not sure how much that's going to get anyone fired up.
I also agree with one commenter who mentioned the mother who's son was killed. As cold as it sounds, there is a knee jerk reation to anyone who says "he wouldn't have gone if he'd known he was going to get shot at."
Visually, I also agree about blotting out those outlets behind Karpinski.
And finally, it still doesn't make much sense to me that this trailer should be being produced to attract the people that agree with you - most of us probably would have gone to see movie, bought it and hosted a party even if we'd never seen the trailer. You have a great opportunity to make a powerful enough statement with this trailer to attract the attention of at least some of the people who support the war because they really do believe our troops are over there fighting for freedom and not profit. Preaching to the choir doesn't really tend to attract more congregants.
Thank you for all your hard work in making this film.

My question, looking at the trailer, was "What exactly went on?" I trust that will be answered in copious detail in the film!
Thank you SO MUCH, Robert, for doing what you do.
A request (and please picture me begging on my knees for this): Please, PLEASE make a film about our limping & bleeding electoral system, before they succeed in snuffing out democracy for good.

Again, thank you. Can't wait to see the film, buy the film, get others to see the film!

Is there a reason to interview guys that are fatter than me? It's distracting. Show us their faces not their paunches.
